Elder Wood Deer Hide Rattle

This piece is made with an Elder branch handle, bark removed, deer hide and black sinew, Frankincense resin (Boswelia tree resin) filled. The naturally hollow handle of this style allows for more of the sound medicine and vibrations to travel through the handle, felt in the hand or fingertips and also out into the air around it.  Measures approximately 7" long in total length. Head approximately 2.5 inches width. 

The cadence of this medicine rattle is more of a "crackling" sounding rattle, befitting its source.
