Kanawha River Otter Night Sky Horse Hide Drum 20"

Inspired by last week's time with the Otter Family on the New (Kanawha) River - It was a highly improbable encounter, so to see them from where I did and for them to stay for as long as they did, I believe it was perhaps a little more than chance. Reflecting on that special time, my mind went to the river at night and how it resembles the night sky moving, catching little bits of moonlight in its motion. The ring around the drum represents the river, its smoothness and its falls and cascades, the Otter at its home, and both in the form of the night sky world moving above.
