The cloak pictured measures 38x50 inches and is a very accurate representation of what you will receive in both color and size, but please allow for natural variations - all hides are unique and will have some variations but nothing far from what you see here.

Premium quality soft, warm, natural reindeer hides, raised by Sámi reindeer herders in Finland, personally imported under appropriate US Fish and Wildlife permit regulations. We personally use these while camping due to their amazing warmth. They are perfectly suited for outdoor use.

Synthetic materials take thousands of years to break down, harming the Earth and environment. Using natural materials allows the environment to reclaim its resources in the circle of life. This hide honors an ancient way of life where animals and humans work closely with one another.

About reindeer herding:

In the year 98, Roman historian Tacitus writes about "strange people in Thule (Latin for the far north) who wear fur clothes, hunt reindeer and travel with skis". These people carry on their traditional lifestyle today, passing down knowledge from generation to generation as they have done for thousands of years. A reindeer herder develops a close relationship with their herd. Reindeer herding remains the exclusive domain of indigenous Sámi people in Finland. Remnants of green herder's stamps may be evident on the skin surface of the hide.

These are shipped fully insured against loss and shipment damage - if such an issue arises please keep packaging materials and be willing to cooperate so that we can both be taken care of by the insurance company. This usually just means I will need some photos of the damage and packaging or you will need to affirm by clicking a box that you did not receive the shipment in case of loss - so far not an issue I have encountered but with an item of this value I prefer to be safe.
